The Vietnam National Tourism Year 2011, hosted by Phu Yen Province in cooperation with the central coastal provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan and Danang City, has already been kicked off successfully with a number of exciting events. Themed "Exotic Beaches and Islands", various festivities focusing on Vietnam's sea and islands are scheduled throughout the year.

Phu Yen Province will host the ASEAN Traditional Music Festival in Tuy Hoa City, taking place 23- 26 June. Art troupes from ASEAN countries, China and Japan will participate in the event.

The next big highlight is the Nha Trang Sea Festival, being staged from 02-15 June. 60 cultural activities, art performances, sporting events and tourism promotion will be organized. Morbihan Province of France will participate in this year's festival with a music performance One rather unusual event will be the underwater wedding for 10 couples to be held 15 June at Hon Mun Sea Reserve Area. The Nha Trang Sea Festival aims to attract domestic and foreign tourist to the province and Vietnam.

There are regular flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Danang, Nha Trang and Tuy Hoa - the capital of Phu Yen Province. Phan Thiet / Mui Ne can be reached by car (approximately 5 hours from Ho Chi Minh City).
